I should have stopped to get more photos on the way up! I had plenty of rest breaks! The trail beyond Black Lake is a steady uphill climb. But it is beautiful... and so worth it.

These images are right after it kind of levels out at the top.

We weren't sure what our goal was up there. Our guide book seemed to suggest Blue Lake because of the views. Someone we ran into on the trail said that Blue Lake wasn't much; head to Green. We were just planning on seeing what we could see. When we got to where the trail to Green crosses the stream, near the little waterfall, Dave didn't think I could make it. We met another hiker coming back from Green Lake, and he said he preferred Blue, anyway... so we turned around in search of Blue Lake.

Dave did quite a bit of exploring down on this shelf. The views down into Glacier Gorge were fantastic! I was pretty sure Blue Lake was just above this, but Dave wanted to check out all of the cairns here and just below.

I'm pretty sure this is Blue Lake. It looks like other pictures I have seen. It isn't really very big, but the setting and the views are GORGEOUS!
