After enjoying some yummy muffins at the motel, we loaded up the car again, hooked up the camper, and headed over to Safeway to pick up ice and the cold things for our cooler. We've always loved Glacier Basin but with all of the beetle kill and tree removal, we decided to stay at Moraine Park again this year. I was really disappointed in our site there two years ago, so I was really careful about the site I chose this year. The pictures of Moraine Park on the forum are really helpful because there has not been any tree removal in the campground. They are treating some trees though, and they are marked with a big blue circle. Even though checkout is at noon, we were hopeful the the occupants had checked out early, so about 10:00 we headed over. They told us at the kiosk that they hadn't checked out, but that we could drive over there because sometimes people don't drop off their sticker. When we drove by the site, it was obvious they were in no hurry to leave, so we decided to drop the trailer and head up to Sprague Lake for awhile. It was a beautiful morning!

They've done a lot of tree removal for safety purposes around the lake, so there are many stacks of wood like this around the lake. We saw lots of these stacks along the roads and picnic areas on the west side of the park too.

After spending some time at Sprague and visiting with a nice family from the Chicago area, it was nearly noon so we headed back to MP to set up camp. The campsite was wonderful! It didn't have views of Moraine Park, but is was right next to a pretty meadow, pretty private, and right across from a brand new bathroom building! Dennis and Melva were almost our neighbors for one night. Their campsite was quite close to ours and after we set up camp, we walked over and visited Melva. Dennis was out hiking for the day. Here's our site - 139 in Loop A.

We relaxed at the campsite for the rest of the afternoon and made an easy meal. After we were done eating, Dennis and Melva stopped by for a short visit. Then we decided we would head up to Bear Lake and hang out for awhile.

What a peaceful end to the day. Our agenda for the next day was a hike to Bridal Veil Fall. We heard the falls were running full and that the flowers were awesome! It wouldn't disappoint.

What a beautiful picture of Sprague!
Well done picking the camp site, that looks great!
Did the bathroom have a shower or are there still no showers there?

Another nice day in the. Great shots of Sprague and Bear. It is sad to see so much dead wood stacked, though, isn't it?

What a pretty campsite. Wish I had a pop-up and a vehicle big enough to pull it. That would be a fun vacation. Loved your pictures of Sprague and Bear Lakes.

BTW, I have to give Ken credit for most of the photos. He's usually the one with the camera in hand!
