A friend and I went up to an intended destination of Ypsilon Lake. In the back of our minds we were also thinking about options of Spectacle Lakes or Fay Lakes. We arrived at Ypsilon Lake in good time and decided to head up to Spectacle Lakes. I have never been past Ypsilon Lake before so this was new for me. We headed on up to the falls where you are suppose to go and then climb up to the left. Well, we we got there it became clear to me that I wasn't going to make it up the wet walls. The falls there were really flowing (should have taken a picture but forgot to). We decided to just not turn back but head SW to Chiquita Lake. After many stream crossings and some snow filed crossing we finally made it. The lake was well secluded but as you approach you could tell where it was sitting. We ended up arriving at the SE side which is the opposite side of the drainage. It was a much larger lake than I was expecting and was worth the bushwacking up there. Some pictures below.

I concur.. it's a less traveled section of the park.. but impressive when you get above treeline..

Chipmunk Lake looks so calm and serene. I would have been tempted to stop right there.

Yes, I was surprised at how beautiful it was. Kind of remined me of a mini Rowe glacier.

If you get up to Spectacle Lakes then let me know how you did it becasue the route we were choosing wasn't going to work for this feable flatlander. I still want to get there someday.
