Has anyone taken the trail up to Mills Lake? I'm wondering how hazardous the crossings are at the two bridges that are out. The RMNP trail conditions report makes it sound like crossing the trail where it's flooded at Calypso Cascades is more dangerous than crossing on the way to Mills where the bridges are out, but even the descriptions aren't consistent:
7/2:
Two bridges are still out after Mills/Loch Junction on way to Mills Lake. Crossing can be difficult.
6/30:
Two bridges after the Mills/Loch Junction are out or severely damaged. Creek crossings are extremely risky due to high water and other hazards. Expect water levels to rise in afternoon hours. Water is potentially cold, fast and deep. Exercise caution if attempting to cross.
And regarding Calypso Cascades, 7/1:
Just below Calypso Cascades where the trail splits and the large bridge crosses the river, the water is crossing the trail at a depth of about 14 inches and flowing hard. Some people are rock hopping and getting across, but it is not advised for children or elderly. It is hazardous for ALL.
So it sounds to me like Calypso Cascades is currently a more hazardous hike than Mills Lake, but I have no idea how large the streams are. I'm guessing the two bridges are the bridges just before Glacier Falls.
Bridges to Mills Lake - just how hazardous are the crossings?

Did Ouzel Falls last week. At that time it might have been 14 inches to trail surface but only about 2-3 to the top of the rocks. Rock 'stepping' (I wouldn't hop) is possible if you keep aware of possibility of slipping and falling. Having a stick (3rd leg / arm) really helped me. Your feet will get wet unless you've got better waterproofing than I do.
Haven't been Mills lake way but I heard there was a good size tree across so no problem for most folks, but then I heard it got displaced. Maybe someone who has been that way lately has info.

We did Ouzel Falls Saturday. It wasn't possible to cross without getting feet wet. I learned that my waterproof Merrells aren't waterproof if water goes in the top of the boot.

I spoke with a guy who crossed going to Mills. He said its possible, just to be careful. His buddies all took their boots off and crossed so they wouldn't get their boots wet. That was two weeks ago. It should be even easier now.
I went to Calypso Cascades and Ouzel Falls too. It was a blast! One of the most beautiful trails in the park for water features IMO. The St Vrain Creek was running so fast and white!!
The Ranger at the entrance said that a 300lb bear had also been spotted in the WB area... All I saw was a Golden Mantled Ground Squirrel!!
