I made the trip up Lady Washington yesterday. I had a great time in nearly perfect weather and took lots of pics. You can read the trip report on my blog.

Nice Al! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us. The flowers are awesome! I am coming out next week and was trying to think of a good hike, and this might be it! Thanks!

Whew!
I take it that this was up the trail from the Long's Peak Ranger Station -- did you put anything (chemicals) into the water you took from the brook? Or is it early enough that you don't worry about Giardia? Or are you immune?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Are those spikes uncomfortable on hard ground and rock? Yeah, as everyone is saying, do check in.

I did go up the East Longs trail. For the water, I used my Steripen Adventurer Opti UV light. I never go without it, and rarely have to carry a lot of water because of it.

Not really. They feel a little weird at first but you get used to it very quickly. They are a great help on icy or wet rock, or icy snow slopes.
