Everything came together again today and I made it to the summit of Taylor Peak on a bit windy but beautiful day. The vertical gain today was about 3700 ft. but I got to bed early last night and had all my gear packed. The snow is unbelievable with most places having a good three or four feet of snow left in the woods and I was able to leave my snowshoes behind and just boot it today. The snow was firm enough in the morning that I hardly left a track in a lot of places but usually I was sinking in about an inch which gave great traction.
After passing the Loch, the snow wasn't quite as consolidated yet and I sank in about three inches... still pretty easy and fast.
When I got to Beautiful Lake Marv, I had a view of Taylor just peeking up over the Cathedral Spires and it looked like a beautiful day on the summit:

Beautiful Lake Marv was in spring breakup:

As I got close to the Loch, I thought of Rhonda and got this picture with snow exposed properly and GREEN! trees:

The Loch is being to melt pretty good and I didn't walk across it this weekend:

I climbed towards Andrews Pass after passing the Loch and got my first view of the pass not long before getting above the trees:

Not far from reaching Andrews Tarn, I remember to get a picture of Sharkstooth:

I made good time and got to the summit at 12:42 and spent a good 45 minutes on top.
I can't believe all the snow looking toward the Never Summer Range:

As I sat on the summit, I noticed the clouds were coming from the south:

I waited until the clouds reached Longs before heading down:

It was great coming down with ALL the snow. I made it back to the car in 3 1/2 hours with a couple long breaks included.
Whoo Hoo! Spring climbing season is here.

Looks like a whole lot of fun! Thanks for sharing. I've got a major RMNP itch. It usually comes on real strong when the temps hit 90 here.

Just think.. if I would have had a telephoto lens.. and we would have done these trips on same day rather than 24 hrs apart.. I could have caught you going up Taylor lol..

Looks like a wonderful day!! Did you by any chance get a pic of Lake of Glass and Sky Pond? I'm sure they're still covered with snow but just thought I'd ask.

Loved your report. It is hard to believe we are looking at the mountains
in June with that much snow.

I enjoyed reading about your adventure of the day.

It almost looks like Lake Marv is on a beach with the snow looking like fine white sand.
