Might be headed that way this next week (week of Memorial day) and I was wondering what the trails were like headed out of Bear Lake. I have been there over the 4th and Labord day but never this early. Also are the roads cleared going over the top on trail ridge road. I am guessing probably not.

Thanks for any info

The trails out around/above the Bear Lake area will be snowpacked this weekend. It doesn't look like we'll be getting any big dumps of snow later this week but if so, snowshoes could be needed. I think the trails will be doable with just boots though. It'll probably be wet and slushy so make sure to have waterproof footwear. Gaiters would be prudent.

TRR won't be open for Memorial Day weekend this year due to lots of snow. They're hoping for an early June opening.
