John, are you going to go the Mt. Orton, North Ridge route that Scott described? I LOVE LOVE LOVE that part of the park. You'll be so close to Frolic Pond, you'll have to at least snap a picture of it for me. You could always go down to it on your way back & then follow the Hunter's Creek drainage back. That's what Ben, Chuck, & I did last summer. Are you going out again in August? I would love to do that hike with you. I think Ed should come as well!

Kristen, I am spending two nights at Sandbeach Lake to cut 8 mile round trip off of my Chiefs Head attempt. I plan to follow Scott's route. I'm a little nervous about getting down into the woods and getting lost on my way back...but you could help me decide...does the Hunter's Drainage dump into Sandbeach Lake? That's where I need to land.

I am coming in August, the week before Labor Day, and will be spending 2 nights at Little Rock Lake and 2 nights at Upper Ouzel site near Bluebird Lake. Your adventures above Bluebird made me decide to explore that area and again, since I can't cover as much ground as you in a day, Backpacking will help me to get to where I couldn't otherwise go. I have in mind a loop I see on p. 207 of Foster's book Junco Lake to Ouzel Peak to Pippet Lake then Lark Pond then back to camp. You've been up there...what do you think?
