The cone often gets a bad rap, but I think it's a decent hike. The summit is nice and it has plenty of places to get out of the wind on those blustery days. And the views from the summit and on the way up are pretty good. Out of all the routes, my favorite in-out is from the Storm Pass TH on Bear Lake Road. As a point-to-point, I'd pick Lily Lake - Storm Pass TH in either direction. If you prefer morning views of Longs-Meeker, start at Lily Lake; for early views of Otis-Hallett-Flattop, start at Storm Pass TH.

Great report. Love the first photo of the trail in the trees. Still have not done this one yet.
