I noticed that lots of people are talking about doing some warm up hikes before Saturday's Stomp to Haiyaha. I thought I would start this thread and be sure if people are looking for a hike they could find people to hike with.

Here is my tentative warm up schedule. Of course, everything depends on the weather. I usually try and leave sunrise and sunset for photo ops. My brother John and I fly in early on Wed.
Wed afternoon - Emerald Lake (always my first hike at the park)
Thurs - Something more challenging. Current thoughts - Black, Sky Pond, Twin Sisters, Flattop. I owe Ice a hike, so I may have to pay up on this day :yup:
Fri - Something in Wild Basin (I have never been there in Winter) still working on this, open to ideas.

If you are planning a hike and are interested in trying to meet up with people, post it here.

I'll be leaving B.L. at 7:00 Thursday morning and doubt I will be moving very fast with a loaded pulk in tow.

Thursday....Bierstadt. Gotta work into this slowly.
Friday...Sandy wants to take our Christmas card photo...no telling where we land up.
Saturday...the Big Extravaganza!

My hopes: Bierstadt on Thursday with a small group, Mills on Friday with Qbert and whoever else, (doubt I'll go beyond Mills, so I may return solo). Big Hiayaha on Saturday. Sunday is yet to be decided. Leaving Monday.

I'm arriving on Saturday the 12th & plan to cram in as much as I can. Hikes on my radar are Twin Sisters, (Jordan really wants to do this one) Flattop, Helene, Emerald, Cub, I wouldn't mind going to the Loch again via the winter route, - that was fun. I'm up for Mills & beyond on Friday. Rhonda - Katie & Mister Ice may turn back with you, I don't know how far they'll want to go. Zemmin - oh, you'll definitely be paying up on Thursday, I don't care where we go, the crazier the better.

We'd like to hit Bierstadt on Thursday, Mills on Friday (we will probably head back with Rhonda), Hiayaha on Saturday. Not sure of Sunday or Monday, yet. We are leaving on Tuesday.

We won't arrive until Thursday afternoon. It'll be too late to do anything serious -- we'll probably toodle around Bear Lake in the evening.

Friday: Mills sounds like a good destination, but I don't think I'll go beyond.

Saturday: Big group snowshoe to Haiyaha

Sunday: Sadly, we'll depart for Iowa on Sunday. Gotta be at work on Monday.

This plan depends on whether I decide to stay at the igloo Thursday night or not. I'm going to try to do something possibly Wednesday afternoon depending on when I get settled in. It might just be doing some photography around the area. If I don't stay at the igloo, I'd do Bierstadt with folks on Thursday and Mills on Friday as well. Saturday the big one and Sunday I'm open to about anything. Leaving on Monday.

I see the mention of the 'big' outing on Saturday. I live in Greeley and would love to tag along. I can't find any reference to where to meet or at what time.
Could you repeat those details. Sorry I missed them previously.

I don't know that it's been "officially" announced this year, but it's always been 8:00, Saturday morning at Bear Lake parking lot in the past & I'm sure it will be again this year.

Thanks, Kristin, because I don't think it has been officially mentioned either. That sounds great.

Yes, thank you Kristin. I've been wondering what time we started on previous Stomps and was going to ask what time everyone wanted to start. 8:00 at Bear Lake on both Friday and Saturday sounds good to me.
