I'm interested in what anyone thinks about a hike I'm planning. I'd start at the Lily Lake Trailhead and hike to the Glacier Gorge campsite (via Storm Pass Trail and Prospect Canyon/Glacier Gorge Trail) where I'd camp the first night. Second day hike from Glacier Gorge site to Boulderfield where I'd camp the second night (and possibly try for Longs Peak depending on conditions). Third day start by trying for Longs and then hiking out to the Longs Peak trailhead. This would be in a few weeks.

It depends on what "few" weeks means. By mid-October, you may find the weather not suitable to climbing Long's, especially as part of a long loop such as this. But otherwise, it seems quite do-able, if a lot of walking.

How are you going to get from the Long's Peak ranger station back to Lily Lake? That's lots more miles. HPH

That sounds pretty ambitious... Hope you're in good shape!

Click HERE for the Longs Peak report. This will tell you whether Longs is technical or not...

Good luck!!
