Kristen recently posted some trip reports of marathon hikes she took with the Oatleys. Although she wasn't planning on doing Longs this year, she couldn't resist after talking to all of us who were going to give it a try. As a warm up hike, Kristen, Chuck and Ben hiked 17 miles the day prior to Longs, up Mt. Orton and beyond. WOW! Here is Kristen with her cookie when she arrived at the Boulderfield.

Kristen got her forum name Iceberg from her love of the movie Titanic. Here she is in the Keyhole.

And here is Ben, Rick and Monica's son.

Chuck is a gifted photographer and a partner ind business with Ben.

Here is Ben on the summit watching people come up the Home Stretch.

And Kristen getting photos of the same.

Wow! You got some amazing perspectives, John! And all this time, I never knew where "Iceberg" came from. Verrrrrry interesting :)

I'm loving your "up close and personal" accounts of each of your team's adventure :)

I'm loving these reports John! Since we were a bit late for the party we missed out on the joy of summiting with most of the group! What a blast seeing everyone celebrating!

John, Another excellent report!
It was so cool that Kristin joined the Longs team! Seeing Ben and Kristin at the top looking at us and cheering us was a helpful motivation. They were genuinely happy for us and that felt good.
I love how you are telling the forum name stories. I love everything about these reports and pictures. Seeing and reading these helps get over the post vacations let downs.

I seriously can't wait to climb that mountain again.

Wish I wasn't leaving next week, or I'd have time to do an Orton trip report as edit and post my pictures. In October I'll be able to post pictures as well as put a video or two on youtube for you all. I have a neat one from the sky pond hike.

Another wonderful report, John. It has been fun seeing all the different groups making the climb up Long's, and all the great photos.

So glad I did Longs with everyone. I think I definitely would have been kicking myself if I hadn't. It was the experience of a lifetime, & I honestly did not find it that scary. I never once felt beyond my comfort zone - although I was pushed right up to the edge of it. It was challenging, but oh so rewarding, & I think we need to have an annual summer get together, as well as the stomp, because hiking with a group of people who are so passionate about the park is always a highlight.

Another fabulous report. And after hiking to Chasm Lake with Kristin last year, and reading all her reports of marathon hikes with the Oatleys as well as the ones she has posted from this last trip, plus years of sharing on the Forums with her, I feel I know that little imp pretty well now. Can't wait until I can hike with her again.

Chuck and Ben are awesome hikers!

Another great report John! I, also, LOVE how you're doing the individual reports! It's really interesting to hear the little personal tidbits....like how Iceberg decided on that name....very cool! The cookie shot is great, and I REALLY love the summit shots....AWESOME!!!!
