Looks like this could be the biggest Stomp yet! I'll be stompin'.... and Bob said he might even join in this year (just for the stomp, not staying in an igloo).

Ed, Bob said he'd stomp, no mention of wanting to pull a sled. :) I don't think the Stomp this year will involve a sled for either of us.

I'm not sure if this post fits but while visions of snowshoes and igloos dance in our heads I thought I would post a link to an article by a friend of ours that grew up in our town and went to school with Monica's brother.
This guy, (Joe Henderson) left Jackson, MI roughly 30 years ago to enjoy/explore the wilderness of N Canada. He eventually migrated over to Alaska. He has since visited Michigan a handful of times.
The most recent was early Aug just before the GBUTH. He gave a talk and slideshow presentation at our library that was absolutely fascinating! Talk about trip reports, imagine going 5 months without seeing another human being. Or, John may find this fascinating, he recently moved into a house with indoor plumbing for the first time in 20+ years. Talk about a privy lover.
Anyway, I post this because he just signed on as a contributor to Snowshoe magazine and has an article that may be entertaining if not helpful to those interested in snowshoeing.

Bill and I are planning to build an igloo. Bill doesn't want to sleep up there (yet), but he just might change his mind. Sooo I might have an open bed in my igloo. After looking at the pictures of last years stomp and with Jennifer Grannyheart telling me she was as snug as a bug in a rug, I am so excited to try it. What an adventure!! Guess I better start saving my dollars for a tool!!!!

As much as Ladybug and I enjoyed Stomp V, we'll have to sit out again this year as those dates are bad for us. We'll have to just check out all the pictures!

Darn! When I saw you had posted something I was hoping it was going to say that you and Ladybug would be there.

It was disappointing to post that one, especially with all the people chiming in to say they are attending.

February has just not been really good for us, last year I had a week-long business trip on the west coast and this year Malai has a week-long business trip on the west coast. We're not actually sure when we're going to make it back to RMNP again but we'd like to shoot for a weekend in May.

So when should we start making reservations at McGregor? Is there a plan on when most will arrive and leave?

I think we're waiting on Smudge to offer us 90% off!
We may want to start another Google Doc and let folks enter the pertinents. I'll see if I can get one going later today.
I'm not comfortable just declaring a specific date on my own, but it works best for ed and a few others so I say "make it so"!
