Glenn, awesome report!! It is probably one of the most honest as well... telling it like it is!!! So glad your family were able to accomplish something like this together! What a major bonding experience. I hope to do this with all my boys someday...
Thanks again for the report. Hope that ankle gets to feeling better soon.

It's funny how hiker's amnesia sets in. While doing the climb, my wife Michelle said it was great but would never do it again. Yesterday she said to me "you know, we didn't spend enough time on the summit, if we were to do it again..."

We had the same discussion yesterday. " I wouldn't do it again...but if we stayed at the Boulderfield and then hiked up..."!

(These legs are preventing total amnesia, though.)

I was just thinking that I actually would like to do it again, only now that I know what to expect, stop more often and get all the pictures I want that would truly document the entire hike. But for next time, I'll do looots more stairs than I did this time.
But. . .ummm. . . Bill. . . . I guess I'll let you hike up early, thru Jim's Grove's vertical death climb with a 40-lb camping pack on your back to stay at the Boulder Field, but I think I'll still hang back and go with the Day HIkers again.

At the top I said no way, not ever again. But today I found myself telling a coworker that if I spent TWO nights at the Boulderfield, I'd do it again. Hiker's amnesia already?!
