QUOTE
Somehow while you are up on the summit the park service quadruples the length of the trail from the Keyhole to the trailhead.

I know what you mean. It is now our family joke that Colorado lies on their signs regarding distance. Not only in the park for the trails, but on highways also. I swear we drove 20 miles after seeing a sign that said Lyons was 5 miles further!!!!

I really enjoyed reading your trip report. thanks.

Takes a while for things to dawn on me. I didn't realize the article my local paper was about you and your Dad, I guess I thought it was your brother and your Dad or something! The article in the paper was very good, but not as good as your trip report.

Thanks to Workrelease for the bump on this thread. What a great TR!! How wonderful for you and your dad to have this shared experience.

BTW: God's alpenglow projector?!? You've coined a great phrase that I suspect will always come to my mind when I'm watching a mountain sunrise.

That was a great story....read it for the Long's description, but so glad I didn't miss the part about your dad....the mountains are great memory-makers, and I'm so glad the two of you had that experience.
