Regarding your father working as the service manager at an automotive dealer - - I must tell you this.
Thanks for taking the time to share this special memory. Wishing you and your father many more miles of hiking together!!!

I know what you are saying. I hiked longs peak with aaron just a few weeks ago. i only made it to the top of the trough but was happy I made it there. My legs started to cramp up on me and I did not want to push my luck. But man the hike down the mountian seemed like it took forever. We started at about 1:30am and aaron and some friends made it to the top around 9:30am. thanks for the great trip report it was like I was on the hike agian.

Gee - now I see why it took you so long to post your longs peak report
That may have been the coolest thing I've ever read.
My dad went with my wife and I, but he only decided to do that on the day before the hike. He knew he had no chance to make the top, but I was happy he got to experience a lot of the hike - I was impressed that he made the keyhole.
I wish I would have hiked on Wednesday instead of Thursday just to meet you guys. Unfortunately I would have been too tired on Wednesday....I'm not nearly in as good a shape as your dad
