Well, this thread.... Thanks Mike for starting it and WOW. I guess I was feeling a bit sentimental as I worked on my deck and read the incoming posts on Sunday. Damn lump in throat syndrome anyway.

The boys were able to go up Chaos Canyon and also go knob hopping with Ed. Wonderful times.

I have had the distinct pleasure of hiking 3 times with Ed and "Iglooing" twice with him. These times have always been great adventures, including great stories and great information. I am an "off trail" kind of person, so hiking with Ed is very fun for me. He has been generous enough to lead my family on a hike and my brother. Good times and a good friend

Ed is a great inspiration to me. Ken and I first met him when he was building an igloo and the Midwest Mountineering Show in Minneapolis. We've been privileged to share time with him at forum GTGs. He's my hero!

Been on a couple treks with Ed, and both are among the funnest days I've spent in the mountains:
