Here's Ed next to what I named "Beard Falls" cuz it looked just like Ed's beard! Now, I couldn't tell ya where "Beard Falls" is located (see what I mean....I like what I see, I just have a hard time remembering WHERE I see things! lol), but I'm pretty sure Ed knows! :)

i have only spent one day with him but you can bet i will do it again (next time i will be in better shape to keep up with him)
thanks ed for making the rockies something new for all of us.

I decided I've got just WAY too many pics of Ed!!!!
So, I decided I'd just post a couple. The first one is from the first time I ever hiked with Ed (and others....Jim and Lynda in this pic). It was my first Snowshoe Stomp....2008!

The next pic is from my first stroll in the park with Ed....just the two of us. We took his special route past Zone Lake and Joyce's Pond to get to Mills Lake. It was my very first time there! We continued on and Ed took me up my first knob....#10.

I LOVED being up there and seeing amazing views! So, that's how I got to know Ed and, thankfully, he's been letting me continue to follow him around ever since. Has it really only been 2 1/2 years???? Thanks Ed for so many AWESOME adventures!!!!!

I've had the great please of having Ed take me on two backpacking trips into Rocky. While both trips were short (one two nights each) I have never had so much fun or enjoyed my time in the backcountry as much as when I've been with Ed. One of the greatest thrills with Ed was walking up on a glacier and then having Ed show me (the Florida boy) how to slide down the snow. The Photo below I took of Ed when he zipped past me providing the demo for my run. Being with Ed in the mountains is to experience and see them in a whole new way. In many ways, Ed really is part of Rocky (perhaps the soul of the park.

And below, is the man of the mountains in the element in which he belongs.

There is no greater thrill than being with Ed in the wilderness

I agree with Jennifer. I'll probably post more than one. But for now, here's a shot from last year atop Mt. Chiquita...

Fortunately, I was able to meet Ed last September at the Smokin' Dave's get-together (The first picture that Rhonda posted). Unfortunately, I have never had the opportunity to go on one of his fabulous hikes. Hopefully, I will get to do so this September. I, too, am slow. But, as long as I can see Ed ahead of me, I will get there! I am constantly in awe of all that he does. I have seen and learned so much from his posts and pictures. I know so much more about the park from all his many trips. I, too, hope to be considered a friend. Hats off to you, Ed - you are amazing!

Great idea to pin this thread - I can see it going for a long time.

I very much look forward to posting our own pictures in a few weeks. We're delighted to have our first hike with Ed lined up! My day was made the day that was scheduled.

Ed is my friend!
This one was in the "Mountain Goat" thread:

Pointing out features in Glacier Gorge (I think) to Mark Zemmin and his brother, John:

Mark Zemmin, John Zemmin, Ed, and Strider (some of my favorite guys) on a knob:

Here's the top:

And, here's the bottom:
