Thank God he's okay. Looking at the pictures, I think this could have been much worse. Had he not stopped....well, that's a long way down.

The Rangers are truly amazing.

From the pictures, it looks like he missed the start of the Narrows coming down from the Homestretch, and was trying to traverse the ledges below the Narrows when he fell. I've traversed them a few times going over to Pagoda (and once going up Longs using the couloir to the left of the Trough), and can tell you that in places they are very steep, slabby, and narrow. I've heard that the snow on the Narrows is pretty much gone, but it looks like there is still a bit here and there on the ledges he was on.

No worries for Bill or JDGreen, as the Narrows is 10 times safer than the ledge he fell from. :smile1:
