It's a pretty ambitions endeavor and I dont know if anyone has done anything similar in the park before. I'm guessing if we do it and put up some trip reports about it, we'll find out.

A quick run down...

Wild Basin TH - Boulder/Grand - Andrews - Ptarmigan - Lake Nakoni - Hallett/Flattop - divide toward milner pass - cut across on the trail to visitor center - chapin pass - CCYFHM (Mummy Mania) - finish at Lawn Lake TH

~50 miles
~25,000 feet of gain

Yes, this is scary even for our standards, but there are several bail-out/aid spots if we need them. We're guessing it will take around 24 hours... but we have no idea...

That's it? Oh come on, you can do better than that.

No stop in Grand Lake for ice cream? That's just poor planning.

Actually we've been kicking around an idea to make it an actual loop, probably involving going up through Stone Man pass and starting the loop from Bear Lake or Lawn Lake TH instead of Wild Basin. The original Death Loop scares me enough though. The thought of making it even bigger and adding another 20+ miles and another big mountain climb is absolutely terrifying (which means I might actually have to try it!).

Actually a stop for some steak and taters at the Sagebrush has crossed my mind. Maybe even a nap on the beach. :yup:
