I'll be doing an interview this coming Monday for the next podcast. It will be with the fine folks at the Rocky Mountain Nature Association. The subject of the podcast will be the Next Generation Fund. Here's a link to their website about the Next Generation Fund - https://www.nextgenerationfund.org/

Read through it. You may find it a worthy cause to donate to and it may spark a question you'd like me to ask of them.

Even those that may have knowledge of the topic, what would you want to make sure gets asked/comes across via the podcast?

Any interest in children and their disconnect and attempts to steer their interest back towards outdoor recreation? No curiosity from the crowd?

I think this is a cool program..... As a mom I am curious as to what types of programs this is going to affect used for. But I am sure that is a pretty basic question you already plan to ask.

How much money does it take to fund a program like this?

What age range is it focused on?

Will this create any new programs especially geared for children or mostly benifit the programs that are already in effect?

Sorry that is the best I can come up with. I am not the best one to ask for help here.... But I do think its a neat topic and am interested in it.

Is there any chance that Outdoor Education could become a require subject in the school systems?

Thanks, Amy! :hifive: You gave me some I didn't have listed out yet, and sparked some more for me to ask. Thanks!

I'll see what they think. Thanks, Ed!

Unfortunately not in Florida. We can't even keep PE in most schools.

However, I did my part for the next generation. My is is really hooked on the wilderness experience. :d25rolleyes:

Rocky is one of the bigger parks and has (I believe) Environmental Education intern positionsall summer. Details on this program and its successes or shortcomings? If this program is successful and engaging, do they have a plan/reports on paper for use as guidelines for other parks? (No need to hint my direction, I'm just curious for my own sake.)

How about residential programs for kids (this may exist already; I don't know) where they basically have a summer camp-type experience in Rocky, guided by educators and rangers?

Sorry, Jen....I interviewed him about five hours ago. He did lightly touch on their environmental program, i.e. "Heart of the Rockies" program. Didn't cover specifics on success or shortcomings. Also, I don't believe the RMNA is involved in a residential/summer camp style program. We didn't discuss that either.

This is what I get for not having access to the internet at my apartment and not going into the office on Sundays. No big deal.
