The historic Grand Lake Lodge is up for sale. The James family has decided to sell it as well as 200 developable lots. The lodge has been around for 85 years and an Act of Congress once moved the border of the national park in order to exclude the lodge property from the national park property. Prospective buyers are talking of expanding the lodge. Click Here for more!!

OK, the way I look at it if all of the forum members pitch in a buck or two we'll be well on our way to owning the new "Grand Lake/RMNPforums Lodge".
What do you think?

I'm in! Just don't give me a dorky bellboy outfit to wear. Also, I'll need some time each week to get some hiking in.

Hmmm, let's see - 200 parcels @ roughly a million each plus the lodge itself divided by 250+ registered members . . .

Me, too. However, we will have to change the name, RMNPForumsInn. Sounds good to me!!

Well, ok for the family...but those words "developable plots" gives me the willies. Maybe we really need to be raising RMNA funds to buy some of those plots to remain UNdeveloped?!?! Put all that together with BLM drilling and mining permits all over the west (see current Nat'l Geo. for more - if you can bear to look at the pictures) and these kind of stories raise my anxiety levels...
