Noooooo!!! I wanted to be there this week but was asked to delay a couple weeks for work. I can't believe I am going to miss all that snow in the Park. :teary:

Last weekend I was wishing we were going out this week, but since I don't like a lot of snow, I'm glad we are going next week.

Hope the drive is not too bad tomorrow evening. It has been a few years (15) since I had to drive in any real snow.

I'm glad it's happening so we can see the fresh snow, but hope it's beautiful blue skies and not super cold or windy next week for some great hiking. However, I'll take whatever the mountains give me. I'll be there, that's enough.

I'm excited about post-storm Thursday and Friday. It will be exceptionally scenic with snow capped peaks AND fall color aspen AND open water on the mountain lakes AND the elk herd in prime time rutting behavior. Yikes! That combo doesn't come around often enough. Click, click, click, etc.

I'm just hoping to see a little sunshine sometime soon! Been up here since Sunday and have seen blue sky for about 20 minutes total! Doesn't make for the best landscape shooting with whiteout skies.

I am ready. Camera battery is charged, I have a spare and I am ready to shoot. Just got to drive to Estes and I will be ready.

Ok, I just have to share this reader comment from below the story Aaron linked to.

This proves global warming isn't real, otherwise why is it snowing so early?
But I hope it is, because then we'll get less snow, and then we wont have to waste money on snow removal! Plus the roads will be safer to drive. A win-win situation.

And for those people who claim that we need the snowpacks to supply water for drinking and farming - We wont need either once we all become vampires. They only consume human blood which we have plenty of.

I'm not sure what that person has been drinking, but I'm pretty sure it's not blood.

As long as Trail Ridge Road is open come October 3rd, let it snow! The Park should be great after the snow fall.

From the DenverChannel.com:

DENVER -- The winter storm that was expected to hit the metro area overnight, developed a little too far east to bring any snow to the metro area.

Moderate to heavy rain is falling east of the metro area, making for some wet roadways across the eastern plains.

The WINTER STORM WARNING and WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY have been cancelled, with a few inches of additional snow possible in the central mountains.

We were in Estes in April when they had about 3 ft of snow and let me tell you, it was absolutely beautiful. We always wanted to see that kind of a snow storm as we don't get that in our area of Missouri. I will applaud the street and highway crews of the Estes area because as heavy as it was snowing they did an amazing job of trying to keep the roads clean. We got around town taking it slow with no problems and when we left it was still snowing we took our time leaving on Hwy 36 with no problem either. We leave in 6 days and are looking forward to it. Everyone drive safely and have a great time in a beautiful part of our country.
