@cbs4denver is reporting that "Larimer County authorities are looking for the man who attacked two hikers near Rocky Mountain National Park."

Anyone heard anything about this?

Glad these ladies were okay and able to protect themselves. Good outcome considering what could have happened.

Scary, I agree. Good thing those ladies defended themselves.

Remember every one, always fight back no matter what. Make as much noise as possible.

You better believe I am going to do more than fight back with a stick. The cops would only need a body bag.:rocket-man: He had a definite motive Denver Post Article
It was right outside the NE border of RMNP.

I hope he gets caught before I get out there!

(ButterflySis and Rhonda, too. Be extra careful, ladies.)

That is what I was thinking, Dixie. Everyone take care out there. Trekking poles, hiking poles, whatever you have, will be a great thing to have. I hope they catch him soon.

Well, at least he was outside the park. I feel somewhat safer in a national park than I would in a national forest since any nutjob can wander into them for free. I will always have my trekking poles, and I'm taking a hiking pole for Jen, and she'll have her tripod. I also have some tear gas for both of us. (And we may pack a little more heat than that.)

What a horrible thing to happen! I'm glad both women are OK. Makes me think about what precautions I will take if/when I hike alone.

Yea, Kristin, be careful! Do you have a whistle or mace, or something?

I think Rhonda and I will be okay. I'll beat the crap out of him with my tripod and then Rhonda will shoot him. He'll be sorry. LOL
