Whenever we go on vacation we try to find some places that have live music. Since my husband is a drummer and he loves music, I try very hard to accomodate him.

Can anyone recommend any places is Estes Park that have live music? I'm sure he'd appreciate the input. Thanks.

There is usually live music at Rock Mountain Inn on Friday nights. Also at Mary's Lake Lodge we've enjoyed listening to a guitar player. If you happen to be in Estes during the Autumn Gold Fest, there is a variety of musical groups playing on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Check the newspaper when you get into town as there is usually a listing of who is playing in town that week.

Go in late September/October and you can hear several a cappella groups singing in Moraine Park and other spots around RMNP. They usually command a pretty big audience, too. :elk:

A good resource for finding out who is playing and where is the Estes Park News. There is an on-line version at http://www.estesparknews.com/ where you can go into a virtual version of this weeks paper. There are a number of ads from the local establishments with listings as well as a "Friends of Folk" column that lists where people are playing. Friends of Folk also has a website with music listings at http://www.friendsoffolk.com/

Hope this helps.

We went to the Brad Fitch concerts in Bond Park and at the Y last week and really enjoyed them. We thought he was an awesome guiter player. It was relaxing for us at the end of long hiking days.

If you want live music, just come to the site next door to wherever I might be camping. Seems like there is always a talentless hack with a guitar who thinks he's John Denver nearby. :hippie:  :guitar3:

Too bad you're not here right now. We have one jazz band in Bond Park and another in Performance Park playing right now.

Partly depends on when you're in town. Jerry Barlow is playing at the View Restaurant in the Crags Lodge Tuesday and Wednesday. He's played every week the past couple of months, but they usually only do this in the summer, so I don't know if he'll still be there in September. He's a really good Celtic fingerstyle guitarist. You'll love it.

If you're in town the weekend after Labor Day, the Long's Peak Highland Festival features some of the best Scottish, Irish, Celtic music you're ever likely to encounter.
