Indian Peaks are so pretty, and the trails are so well-maintained.

Did the whole family go to Pawnee Pass or just the boys?

Dave and I didn't make it all the way to the pass. We turned around at a steep snow crossing. I had fallen last year, and didn't want to take the chance again. The boys made it to both Lake Isabelle Glacier and to Pawnee Pass.

Dogs are allowed in Indian Peaks, so if you are crawling incoherently, you may need a leash.

Beautiful! We were going there instead of Blue last year. Someone told us it was all but dried up....hard to imagine.

We went to Lake Isabelle last year, but it was cloudy when we were at the lake so our pictures aren't nearly as pretty as yours. Beautiful!

We went there last year early August. The water was a little lower, but it was not dried up.

Picture from Ali's disposable. (not as nice as Lynnette's but better than John's)

Those lying.... cussing.gif

I guess it's conceivable that by mid September it could have been even lower...

It does go way down because it is someone's water supply and they nearly drain it. I've seen it in years past.

Lynette, those are nice shots of a really pretty area in the IPW.

Bill, here's what it looked like Sept. 16, 2008. Although the water level is down quite a bit, I wouldn't exactly call it dried up. An added bonus was that there were still a lot of wildflowers blooming on the trail to the lake.

I've seen it a lot lower than that but only once in all the years I used to go there. Your picture is typical.
