The EP visitors magazine says that in August during the week I am there, that there is a few nights of free concerts in the park. Does anyone have any iformation on these such as if they are in general worth the time to go check them out.
Thanks

Well....ZZ Top or The Eagles it's usually not. There are some really fine musicians in the area. We've been to a few of the concerts and there is (for us anyway) something very special about good music in the the setting of the Rockies. I would recommend stopping by one night. Besides if you don't care much for it you can always just stroll down town. For the price of admission (free!) you really can't go wrong!!

Use this link to keep up on what is playing at Performance Park:

It may be a little early for all the details to be nailed down but they do have a few concerts listed already. There are also usually some solo concerts (generally folk and country held down on the Riverwalk between the porches of Mama Roses and Poppy's Pizza in the early evening (seems like about 5-7pm). (also called Barlow Plaza) I know that Dick Orleans frequently performs there. This link also will probably be updated with time as to local music events.

If you like the music of John Denver, try to catch a performance by Brad Fitch. He sings a lot of John Denver tunes along with some songs he's written himself. He performs often in Estes Park and usually with his wife, Kathy.

Cool, Thanks guys I relized the Eagles or ZZ top wouldn't be there but the names I have seen did not mean anything to me so I thought I would ask the locals. Once again you all come through,I will probably hit two or three nights because I did see the names you mentioned. I would imagine Denver-esque type music would really cap off a good day at the park. Thanks again

FYI - The Cowboy sing-alongs on the calendar are led by Brad Fitch. He does sneak in a John Denver tune once in awhile with some of the other camp fire sing along songs

Have met Brad, he works at (or used to) Alpine Trailridge Inn. He is a terrific guy, looks like John Denver, and sings his songs very well. Heck of a nice man. You will really enjoy his show.
