Yes, my kids want an ICEBOX too. We'd have some crazy fun with one. Everyone buy an ICEBOX and enjoy yourselves this winter and winters to come yup.gif

I had a very tender moment yesterday when I shipped a second ICEBOX to Dorothy who is now 85 years young.
And you guys wonder how I carry on!

Cool! I was looking through the photos on your site last week and came across the pics of her and her husband.

You talked a little bit about the stomp......has a date been set for that yet? Just wondering if I'm gonna be able to join in. I sure hope if works out that way! If not, guess I'll just have to try to get Ed to take me out stompin' some other time. It sounds like it's gonna be a blast.

March 6th through 8th. Just tearing down excuses...

Just wanted to say that I think that was the most informative podcast I've listened to yet. I listened this evening on my flight home from Columbus, OH and was very impressed. Not only did Ed's insight on moisture management provide a world of insight, but listening to him speak from inside that igloo transported me to 10,000+ ft in the park which was extremely relaxing. Thanks Ed and Aaron for putting that together!

Now I'm all pysched about spending a night or two in an igloo in the park. Is the location something you can share Ed, or do I have to build my own?

Thanks 'poke! Feedback is good yup.gif I struggle with putting together ideas for 'shows' (or whatever the proper term is) that are informative and interesting. My next recording I'll be doing is with the company that makes SPOT, a GPS device.

Ed is awesome! Ed had a great idea to step outside so we could hear some of the sounds. Ed does a great job explaining stuff like this. Ed knows I'll be bugging him for future podcasts yup.gif

Grannyheart and I are going up to check on the igloo tomorrow. It would work well if you and Lindsay could join us and see where it is at. Even JPS coordinates don't work some times when the igloo is buried in fresh snow.
We'll be meeting at Bear Lake tomorrow at 8:00 am. We'll be using snowshoes.

Hmm, tempting although I promised a friend we'd climb or ski together somewhere tomorrow. I assume you mean 8am on Saturday and not this (Friday) morning.

Yes, tomorrow as in Sat. Dec. 6th at 8:00 am
I doubt the skiing would be good but if you are hardy...
There's a few good runs on that hill in good conditions.
Would enjoy having you along though.

I like that stomp and sinter tip. I have to remember that one. I've only snowshoed once, and I bet that would have helped.

You should see me building a trail through the boulder fields early in the season. There's lots of big holes in them boulders to waste plenty of snow into and at a time when there isn't that much snow. Waste not, want not.
Few engineers dream of building as many bridges as I build in one day.

I'm listening to the podcast again. Ed, have you ever come back to one of your igloos to find an animal had been inside while you were away?

The spot where we hang out the most has a couple animals hanging around. One animal is the mice that pick up the crumbs we drop and the other is a pinemarten that I presume hunts the mice once they go into the igloo. There's only one way out.
I know this from the scat they occasionally leave.
They don't hang out or live in the igloos though as it would be warmer to curl up in the snow someplace or back to their den.
