Thanks everybody, great advise! shakehands.gif

I have one more question though. When does the shuttle start from the Moraine Park Museum? If the Y doesn't have a direct shuttle to Bear Lake, I am thinking I can hike to the museum and take a shuttle from there.

Shuttles start running at 7 am, but depart from Fern Lake TH, and from the Park & Ride lot; best guess about departure from the Moraine Park Museum would be somewhere between 7 and 7:15.

There is another stop on that route that is somewhat more convenient to the Y(Tuxedo something?). Just make sure you get on the bus going TO the parking/transfer area - as many years as we've been going I always get turned around when I hike from the Y to the park.....Greg

If you guys get desperate for a summit, I suggest Mt. Evans. I know it's not in RMNP but it not that far away.

I know what you're thinking... That 14'er is way too big and dangerous for us. Well, you guys might be able to handle it if you are very very careful. skull.gif skull.gif skull.gif You have been warned!

He I am on the summit with my wife:

And here is another view from near the summit.

Yeah, it's that close to the parking lot! But it IS a 14'er nonetheless.
