Can't be Gem Lake Trail.  I don't think that's walking distance from the Stanely, and it is significant uphill to get to

Wow, looks eerily similar to the Gem Lake I saw in January of this year! I do remember some elevation gain, although it was only in a few spots and dwarfed by the other two hikes that weekend (so maybe I forgot). Anyway, not being a walking RMNP map, it was the only thing that came to mind for me, because it is, generally, 'behind' the stanley hotel.

I found it to be an interesting hike, climb, er whatever, since I had it all to myself that day.

I myself have done the Bridal Veil Falls trail with my niece & nephew last year. I loved that hike & the falls, and would like to do it again. It was also in the back of my mind that Dad would like it, but I know he'd want to see the end result of the Falls, and I really don't thing he'd make it up there without me having a heart attack! I don't think he's going to be able to hike in any farther that 1/2 mile & I think that would be pushing it, because then he has to hike back! Keep the suggestions coming tho, because I'm going to print this thread out and get with Dad to see what he wants to do!

Thanks!

Rita

PS I Love the pictures!

No I don't recognize that as being part of the walk so can't be it. I'll keep searching and see what I can find out.
