My mom should get on here and talk about how Dad makes his diesel truck 'talk' to the bison.

Aaron can make bison like sounds too!! And he doesn't even need a truck.

If any of you should ever see people acting stupid around animals and you have a video camera. Please remain calm and get some good shots. Those people were terrible with the video cameras.

Tee hee. . .I was thinking the same thing. . . well. . .that and "THAT LADY WALKING HER CHILD WITHIN STRIKING DISTANCE OF THIS ENORMOUS WILD ANIMAL SHOULD HAVE CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES GIVE HER A VISIT!!"
Jeeeez. What amazes me is how little warning you get. They can be grazing, seeming to be totally unmindful of you, and the next instant, those people were flying thru the air!
Heart stopping for sure! (even if it would have been more heartstopping with even marginally competent videography)

It is not always the stupidity of tourist that create dangerous situations.
I had a VERY close encounter with a grizzly sow in YNP a few years back. We were heading into the Lamar valley to do some fishing when we topped a gulley and ran into three grizzly cubs. Luckily she was out ahead of the cubs! She charged and I ran toward the cliff above the river. When she stopped, I was on my butt ready to drop straight down (~ 20 feet) into the river and she was no more than 15 yards away. She popped her jaws, through up some dirt, and turned to catch her cubs. Never been that scared in my life!
I don't think we did anything wrong, other than tryind to get an early AM start to beat the crowds.
This is another reason why I absolutely love RMNP - NO GRIZZLIES!!

Being a "tourist" and a fly fisherman, above is why I prefer the native cutthroat...they can't talk or type.
