I will be in the EP and Indian Peaks area in Mid March. One of the snowshoeing hikes I would like to do is Lake Japser for the Hesse TH, or as close as I can get to the Hesse TH. Has anyone ever done this in the winter? Do you think there woud be a marked tail, or if not, would it still be easy to do in March. I hiked from Red Rock to Long Lake and then on to Lake Issabelle in Feb and that was a farily easy hike. Just wondering if Jasper would be as easy. I do know the altitude change in much greater with Jasper.

Wow, three trips in four months. I figured you lived close. Where do you stay? I need to find a place to stay in the Indian Peaks area. Estes Park is overflowing with places to stay but the Indian Peaks area is quite the opposite.

Tlveik, you might try staying in Nederland, a small mountain town not far from the Indian Peaks Wilderness. There are some nice places to stay there plus it's only 14 miles from Boulder if you want to make your way down to "buffalo" territory. And there is also some great hiking in and around Nederland should you decide to put your feet up there. Also, Eldora ski area is just to the west of Nederland, and there is great hiking/snowshoeing up there, along with of course skiing.
