+Scrapinator  : (02 September 2010 - 08:52 AM) Just 19 days until I leave for RMNP!
+Scrapinator  : (02 September 2010 - 08:39 AM) Bill, you could have had 5 of the 10 inches I got. I would have gladly shared.
+Bill 007  : (02 September 2010 - 07:37 AM) Dry as a bone...except for the humidity. But the heat keeps it uncomfortable
+ozarksgf  : (01 September 2010 - 08:20 PM) Had to dump rain gauge twice today in south Springfield. about 8 inches
Aaron  : (01 September 2010 - 07:11 PM) hail in Raymond, Ne - hail yeah!
+Scrapinator  : (01 September 2010 - 04:25 PM) Springfield seems to be the focus of this particular long term rain
Marvman  : (01 September 2010 - 04:23 PM) like a half inch in the past two days
+Scrapinator  : (01 September 2010 - 04:22 PM) though, not thought :-)
+Scrapinator  : (01 September 2010 - 04:22 PM) I'm thinking it is closer to 10 inches at my house, thought the official at the airport is 4 inches.
+Scrapinator  : (01 September 2010 - 04:22 PM) how much rain have you gotten up there, Marv
Marvman  : (01 September 2010 - 04:21 PM) I've decided to change my avatar every month
Marvman  : (01 September 2010 - 04:20 PM) wait till you see the next one
+Scrapinator  : (01 September 2010 - 04:16 PM) Love the new pic, Marvman!

    Smudge,

Thanks for sharing your trip report. It was great. I especially loved the picture looking over the edge where it drops straight down. That was way cool and I was so glad it wasn't me standing that close to the edge!! ohmy.gif I would imagine that you aren't the only one who is thinking this should be an annual event. I'm so glad that it worked out for Aaron to go. I know he loved meeting you guys and getting a new perspective of his favorite place!!

Wow! Mike, those were great pics! I've spent my weekend, getting over a sinus infection and watching the Winter X Games in Aspen, wishing I was out in those amazing mountains with all of you!!! I'm glad you guys had such a great time.

Nice reports guys! I'd love to try to get there for next years Stomp!

The wife and I were in RMNP the 1st week in January and we donned showshoes for the first time ever. We both really enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to many more winter visits to Rocky. We hit Bear, Nymph and Dream lakes on our first and only trek. Needless to say it was nothing hardcore, but it was a good first experience nonetheless. Maybe we'll try something a little harder next time, and your trip report has provided us with some great insights for our next adventure.

    Thanks!
