Just a quick tip to some of you out there about food in the park/campgrounds. Be smart, eat your meal, snack, whatever and the PUT YOUR FOOD BACK IN THE CAR!! cussing.gif Last year, aaron d, and a few of our co-workers, and myself, took a trip to RMNP and someone of a questionable intelligence, ate there lunch and then took a nap without putting their food away. You guessed it! Along came a bear to see what was going on (due to the food smell) and went through all of their stuff! When you don't put away your food, you not only endanger yourself and your family, you endanger everyone around you including kids!!! angerexplode.gif Be responsible and PLEASE put your food stuff back in the car when you're done. Thanks for letting me vent...maybe we can post the picture of this bear from last year since our friend John took one when it came by.

I'd say to rent one from one of the shops in Estes Park. Then you could make a better decision on which one to buy. Or if you'd only use it this year then renting may be better anyway. You could rent them at Estes Park Mountain Shop.

According to Randyman's wife (the poor, ever-suffering saint), the bear looked more like this...

I think he might be blowing this out of proportion.

Don't hate me because I'm beautiful!! My wife saw past this gruff and sometimes grease covered exterior to see what is beneath. (eeewww!) Come to think of it, that bear looked more like a marvman/yogi combo! Is that pic you posted from your family album??? pokefun.gif
Have a VERY blessed Easter and let's celebrate, for He has risen!!! Randyman :D

I agree. It's a good thing that no one, especially kids, had a bad encounter with that bear!

That's a great point because there were a good number of kids nearby that area. Am I remembering right Randy?

You are correct sir! cheers.gif(in my best Ed McMahon voice) The campgrounds were fairly full. It was a blessing no one got in any sort of "predicament" with the bear!

That's no bear, that's Marvman. He walks on all fours when he's had one too many !! Lucky no children were around. I can see by all the fur that he was nekkid. Yucko !! blink.gif :D

Invite the guy in here, and he immediately starts slapping me around...I would expect nothing less! thumb.gif

Actually, I've known Lee for several years now, through a number of different boards, and he is definately GOOD FOLKS! (don't mention that I actually had something good to say about him). I hope to get a face-to-face with him one of these days.

Post often Lee, I am sure you can bring a unique perspective to the area through your decades of knowledge of the subject.

Marvman

btw - I always wondered, what does the 421 in your name stand for? Birthday perhaps, April 1921? Ok, maybe not......

Decades of knowledge....OUCH !!! roflmao.gif
Thanks for the welcome and the invite Marvman. I really like this DB and all of the great times it reminds me of in the park through the "decades".
The 421 in my name is there because Lee is not enough characters to be accepted as a userid most places. Many moons ago when I started posting on DBs and such I randomly added the 421 purely as a place holder so I could register. It just seems to be easier that way. peace.gif five.gif
